Multiple Programs to Fit Your Care Needs and Lifestyle

Recovery Unplugged is fully mindful that each patient’s care needs are unique, and we are determined to provide drug and alcohol addiction treatment that best meets their recovery and lifestyle needs. Recovery Unplugged at Harrison House offers a variety of rehab options that allow patients to heal as individuals, not as a mere collection of symptoms. Depending upon their substance use history, many patients might require a deeper level of care. Each one of our programs offers a full continuum of care and helps patients address the behavioral and lifestyle challenges of long-term recovery through music. Our treatment options include intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP).

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)

Intensive outpatient treatment combines the flexibility of outpatient treatment with targeted and in-depth care of a residential program. It is the ideal treatment paradigm for patients who need a higher level of care, but can’t take the time away from their careers, families or other lifestyle obligations to get the help they have. Our intensive outpatient rehab program incorporates multiple weekly sessions for a month-long period. Patients work with our staff confront the root causes of their addiction and develop coping mechanisms to help them avoid relapse in everyday life. Rehab includes a customized blend of music-based therapies, including composition, performance, therapeutic journaling and more.

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Partial hospitalization (PHP) treatment is the most in-depth and intense level of care before residential or inpatient treatment. Patients undergo targeted and advanced care and, depending upon eligibility, have the option of staying in offsite housing for the duration of their program. This housing allows patients to remove themselves from the often-toxic circumstances that contributes to initial substance abuse and sustains it. It can be very hard for patients to maintain sobriety when they are constantly placed back into circumstances that trigger their need to use. The partial hospitalization program at Recovery Unplugged Harrison House is a short-term and intensive recovery option for those with an extended history of substance abuse and who need considerable help.

Coordination with Detox

Patients must enter the behavioral portion of their recovery with a clear head and clean system. Recovery Unplugged at Harrison House offers coordination with licensed and reputable detoxification and withdrawal management resources in the Virginia area, so patients can have a centralized recovery experience. Medical detox gives patients to go through their acute withdrawal periods under the supervision of an experienced qualified medical professional who can intervene in the event of an emergency and help diminish the sickness and pain associated with the process. Patients who endeavor to detox on their own often run a heightened risk of relapse.

Music: The Common Thread in Treatment

Our behavioral care programs are driven largely by the unfiltered emotional connection that patients make with their favorite music. We leverage these emotions to help them convey their vulnerabilities and confront realities that they may find uncomfortable in traditional talk therapy. Every patient, regardless or their musical backgrounds, is encouraged to take part in our music-based care programs.
